Valley Sport is proud to be part of Victoria’s network of nine Regional Sports Assemblies working alongside VicHealth to improve the health and wellbeing of rural and regional communities.

Regional Sports Assemblies work closely with local communities to understand local challenges and create more opportunities for people to participate in sport and recreation. We work alongside local clubs, councils and community organisations to deliver activities that reflect the unique needs of each community.
Since 2015, VicHealth has partnered with Victoria’s nine Regional Sports Assemblies to support this work, recognising that local, community-led programs can make a real difference. This partnership continues through to June 2027, helping Valley Sport and our regional partners strengthen participation, wellbeing and connection across regional Victoria.
Through this partnership, Valley Sport works to improve the health and wellbeing of rural and regional Victorians aged 0–25, including those facing the greatest barriers to participation. This includes supporting opportunities for women and girls, increasing physical activity and social connection through sport, active recreation and community-led activities, and contributing regional perspectives to broader health and wellbeing planning initiatives in partnership with local government and community organisations.
