The Sporting Club Grants Program provides grants to assist in the purchase of sport uniforms and equipment and to improve the capacity and accessibility of Victorian clubs and other community sport and recreation organisations and increase the skills of their coaches, officials and managers.

The program has four funding categories:

Category 1: On-Field Uniforms or Equipment

Grants of up to $1,000 to purchase:

  • Uniforms for teams or individuals
  • Participation equipment which is used during physical participation in a sport or active recreation activity
  • Safety, injury prevention and first-aid equipment.

Category 2: Volunteers and Officials 

Up to $2,000 for projects that provide practical improvements to strengthen volunteering and officiating.

Projects need to:

  • improve the skills and knowledge of volunteers, coaches and/or officials; and/or
  • promote, build, support and celebrate all forms of volunteering

Category 3: Access and Engagement

Up to $1,000 to assist with funding for tools and resources that improve accessibility,
governance and strengthen engagement with members and participants.

OR

Up to $4,000 to plan and deliver a new sport or active recreation program.

Projects need to

  • help improve day-to-day operations, build capacity and community engagement and/or
  • enhance, innovate and support community participation and connectedness

Category 4: Competitors

Up to $750 towards the costs of travel, accommodation and event registration fees
for individual athletes selected to attend representative competition, selection trials
or training camps.

The athlete needs to be:

  • selected for representative competition – region, association, state or national, and/or
  • attending selection trials or a training camp

Eligibility

Applications will be accepted from community-based organisations involved in the delivery of sport and active recreation opportunities in Victoria.

Applicants must be non-government, not-for-profit, operating in Victoria and registered as one of the following entities:

  • an incorporated association; or
  • a company limited by guarantee; or
  • an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander corporation.
Organisations that are non-government, not-for-profit but do not meet any of the entity types listed above should refer to the Auspice Organisations section below.
