With a passion for supporting community sport and recreation, Valley Sport have provided the Murrindindi Little Athletics Club with a much-needed equipment upgrade as a result of their involvement with the Goulburn Valley’s Regional Sports Assembly.
Selected as the winner of an online competition run by Valley Sport, the Little Athletics Club were thrilled to be the recipients of a new equipment voucher and Valley Sport Project Officer Jarryd Cuttler said that the prize had done wonders for a club that offered so much to it’s local community.
“The Murrindindi Little Athletics Club are an outstanding club” he said, “Wth a team of hard working volunteers they are committed to offering both an enjoyable and competitive experience with athletics for junior athletes residing in Alexandra and the surrounding areas”.
“Unfortunately, the Little Athletics Club, like many clubs that operate within rural communities, can often find it hard to afford the latest training equipment. With an equipment voucher provided by Valley Sport they were able to purchase a new set of junior hurdles which will now allow younger participants to learn in a safe and age appropriate environment”.
The hurdles, which are fully adjustable, allow the club to continue to be inclusive to people of all abilities and age groups – furthering the club’s already glowing reputation.
Renee Drysdale, who was the winner of the online competition on behalf of the club said that “We were really surprised to be selected as the winner of the competition, and we want to thank Valley Sport for the chance to upgrade some of our vital equipment. We have recently retired a set of hurdles that had been used when I myself was taking part in Little Athletics because replacing equipment is never easy. This new equipment will further allow us to provide even more participation opportunities”.
